Community colleges are where some of today's most challenging and interesting educational issues are converging. They are places of transformation, rooted in the culture and needs of their local communities, increasingly multi-generational and highly diverse. They are in a unique position to redefine how best to serve a new generation of students and reinvigorate the process of teaching and learning.
With new forms of collaboration among secondary, university, business and community partners, we find our range of academic expertise provides valuable insight into emerging environments that encourage students and the academic community, to gather and engage in active learning inside and outside the classroom.
Our experience is deeply grounded. Each fall, more than 720,000 students across more than 90 community colleges enter educational facilities planned or designed by us. Our projects range in scope from campus master plans to new campuses, science buildings, student service centers and modular classrooms. We know how to design and plan for change. Our 1973 master plan for Richland College continues to provide a cohesive structure for campus growth and curricular flexibility. The campus was recently honored with a 25-year award from the Dallas Chapter of the AIA.
