A child's first interaction with the schoolhouse is in an early learning environment, whether it is a preschool, day care or elementary school. Since the late 1930s, when Larry Perkins spent hours observing and sketching the small people and big ideas of elementary schools – we have kept our minds on what makes these environments unique. At Perkins+Will, we aim to build educational facilities that honor the act of learning and the perspectives and young needs of children, teachers and communities.
