This campus center serves as the "living room" for the Bard community and as a venue for year-round conferences and colloquia. It provides a singular home for activities that were previously dispersed around the campus including: a bookstore, café, post office, the 100-seat Weis movie theater, game room, computer lab, rooms for student clubs, lounge and gallery spaces and a multi-purpose room for meetings and events.
Sited near the geographic core of the expanding Bard campus, the building animates the campus with great transparency between indoor spaces and multiple outdoor terraces, generous public and social spaces and material and color palettes that are warm and welcoming. The result is a campus center that meets the spirited expectations of young people and provides a comfortable place for them to interact with the larger community in a variety of settings.
