Dallas International School's 13.1-acre campus serves up to 950 students between the ages of three and 18 years. The DIS offers private education in English and French and fuses the French national curriculum, the best practices of American education and a comprehensive International Baccalaureate program to form a rigorous, multicultural academic experience. The building is designed to encourage community use of shared spaces, while minimizing academic disruption in a safe and secure way. Program specific courtyards are included to foster social interaction, outdoor learning and to provide each grade level their own unique academic identity. The building is oriented to maximize north daylighting, while limiting solar exposure on the east and west façades. Color and shape give the buildings a sense of play and identity.
