The new building addition is designed as an iconic form that integrates with the original office and conference Center Perkins+Will designed in 1988. The geometry of the cylindrical shell, overlaid with an orthogonal floor plan, provided unique challenges as to how the offices and meeting spaces would be furnished. It was determined that the limitations of manufactured products in the market place would not be able to adapt themselves effectively to the resultant space available. This was particularly evident in the private offices. For these spaces a decision was made with the Owner to custom design the casegoods. The casegoods were crafted by a local woodworker and scribed to the existing conditions. It was similar to furnishing a yacht that has limited real estate and one has to make use of every square inch for living comfortably and working productively. In tandem with the offices the administrative workstations outside the offices were custom designed as well.

All other meeting, pre-function and multipurpose room spaces and seating were installed with mass produced furniture that was light in scale, refined in form and finished with simple materials, like wool upholstery, steel frames and Forest Stewardship Council certified maple veneers.
