The renovation of the Institute for Systems Biology created lab, vivarium, lab support, core facilities, office and office support space. The new design preserves much of the existing lab support spaces, conference rooms and offices while reusing doors, windows, ceiling grids, lighting and other building materials. The laboratories are designed to cost-effectively accommodate changes in research direction and the advent of new technologies and sophisticated instrumentation. The project is targeting LEED CI Platinum certification.
