Mississippi State University College of Business + Industry
Seal Family Business Complex and McCool Hall Renovation
Starkville, Mississippi
Completion Date: 2007
Square Footage: 50,000, New; 8,000, Renovation

This phased expansion and renovation project is part of a strategic master plan that will guide future growth for the college. Early in the planning process, we established project goals in close collaboration with the college to provide a clear framework for evaluating programmatic needs and design options.

Sited on the University's historic Drill Field, the Seal Family Business Complex creates a dynamic presence on campus with its central entry atrium linking directly to an outdoor plaza. Interior spaces are organized around this 3-story elliptical atrium, which includes a cyber-café and space for informal collaboration. Directly adjacent is a 300-seat multi-media auditorium. Other spaces include 75- and 100-seat classrooms, a 65-seat electronic classroom, ten team rooms, boardroom, faculty offices and conference rooms.

Renovations in the existing McCool Hall focused on upgrading classrooms, public areas and providing additional faculty departmental office space.
