St. Alcuin is a private Montessori school rooted the five core values of community, integrity, independence, inquiry and imagination. We engaged in a community master planning process to create a robust and sustainable community campus. From that process, a community building complete with an elementary library and a middle school were designed and built. The new community building acts as a centerpiece of the school with a new gymnasium, lower elementary library and flexible community center. The middle school includes a library/technology center, art studio, cooking center and design center in addition to classrooms and administrative spaces. Mural walls grace the exterior and the west masonry includes a collection of small windows that mimic the Ursa Major constellation.

The interiors of the school and community center reflect the core values that St. Alcuin embraces. Sensitive design of these interior spaces help unite and inspire the larger school community.

The project is LEED certified through the use of recycled and regional material, native landscaping, low-flow fixtures and other energy efficient technologies.
