Community-based Swedish Covenant Hospital enlisted our Branded Environments team, in collaboration with building architect O'Donnell, Wicklund, Pigozzi & Peterson, to create a new medical facility to serve the northwestern Chicago community. The goals of the ambulatory care center were to embody the hospital's Judeo-Christian philosophy, reflect its constituents' multi-ethnic heritage and enhance the hospital's holistic approach to healing within the physical environment.

We provided a family of branded, non-denominational icons, colors and patterns based on cross-cultural symbols of healing and well-being. The focal point of this system, the Circle of Life, is located within the welcoming "heart" of the hospital's entry rotunda. These elements were tied into the hospital's interior architecture, environmental graphics and wayfinding signage system. With a distinctive and meaningful brand image and communication system across the building's four floors of ambulatory care facilities (including surgical suites and cancer center) and three floors of physician office space, the environment is responsive to its culture and reflective of its mission.
