The Cook County Bureau of Health Services and Rush University Medical Center joined together to build The CORE Center, a facility that combines and expands the capabilities of both institutions through an innovative, comprehensive approach to the research, prevention and treatment of AIDS/HIV and other communicable diseases.

The center serves as the referral and resource hub for a growing network of public and private community-based healthcare providers. Outpatient specialty care services include experimental therapies, clinical trials and 24-hour consultation. On-site support services and specialty care is available for individuals and families confronting AIDS/HIV disease including women, children and adolescents. Services include prevention and education programs, a screening and treatment clinic, a comprehensive AIDS/HIV primary care center, a clinical research center, coordinated special services for women and children with AIDS/HIV and case management.
