Town Center Ardmore Green TOD
EBL&S Development
Ardmore, Pennsylvania

We led the design for a new mixed-use Transit Oriented Development (TOD) proposal for the historic town center of Ardmore, Pennsylvania. The Town of Ardmore is an economically struggling community along the commuter rail corridor of Philadelphia’s celebrated Main Line and lies directly south of Suburban Square, a very successful high-end life-style retail destination. Poor connections across the rail line separate these two communities. The challenge was to create a new mixed-use development that would enhance the existing assets and knit the communities together.

The competition-winning design for the developer, EBL&S, creates a vibrant and active TOD featuring a new train station, a community theater, a park, improved streetscapes, 600 residential units, 44,000 square feet of retail, a 120-room boutique hotel and a 130-unit condo hotel. The design integrates historically contextual elements and emphasizes sustainable design strategies.
